Default post on proposed rec outdoors bass tournaments

First off, any follow up post made on the original post will appear on
news.groups.

After reading the proposal for a robt I went to news, groups and found
a suggestion there by a Jim Riley ( As far as I can tell this man has
something to do with formation and management of news groups. See
below.) to
combine the rofb and the newly proposed robt. If you have read the
proposal for the formation of robt you will see it's charter goes
against the charter of rofb.

I suggest everyone that would like our group to continue as is should
strongly protest the combining of rofb and robt. I also propose
everyone back the formation of a tourney group. I think it would be a
good addition to the rec fishing groups. Backing of the new group
would also protect the rofb.

If you do nothing there will be no one to complain to if groups are
combined and rofb is no longer the nice group to discuss everything
about Bass fishing.

rec.outdoors.bassfishing.tournaments Discussion of Bass fishing tournaments.

Since there is already a rec.outdoors.fishing.bass, why wouldn't this
group
be rec.outdoors.fishing.bass.tournaments?

How much of the discussing in rec.outdoors.fishing.bass is related to
tournaments? Is there a conflict between those who want to focus on
recreational fishing vs. those who are interested in fishing contests?

Note, there are groups such as rec.sport.golf and rec.sport.tennis
that
cover golf and tennis both as participant sport and as a spectator
sport.

CHARTER: rec.outdoors.bassfishing.tournaments

rec.outdoors.bassfishing.tournaments is a place for people from around the
world to meet and discuss topics of interest to Tournament Bass Fisherman.

Is "Tournament Bass Fishing" the name of an actual organization? Or
does
this mean "tournament bass fishing"?

Only discussion relating to the organization, announcement, scoring and
resulting practices of tournament Bass fishing, both on the professional
and amateur levels, is allowed. Friendly guests are welcome. Posts
promoting merchandise, discussing fishing methods or fishing for other
than Bass are off topic.

I agree totally with your statement Dan. It would be nice to have a
Tournament group, but, I think the two should be seperate.
