It's another beautiful day. I live in Toronto Canada. No snow yet or
in site for Christmas, every year there is less and less snow. Too bad
it's still to cold to fish and not cold enough for the lake to freeze.
I liked the movie ***An Inconvenient Truth*** by Al Gore it was based
on truth.
The movie showed actual pictures of our planet taken of the same spots
year after year and you can see the change. In a weird way it has been
working out, I enjoy the summer and the winters are becoming shorter.
Maybe one day soon we won't get any more snow in the winter??? And
could I also one day my boat in the water all year???

Your a smart man John,
Now they claim cow flatuance is responsible for more than 25% of Globel

All this talk about the changes our little planet is going through
reminds me of just how long "we" have been around. If we compressed all
the time the Earth has been in existence into one year....man would show
up on the scene in the last minute or so of December 31st., or maybe
it's the last few seconds...it's been awhile since I figured it out .

Now, based on that limited time experience and limited observations of
man, I have trouble with some of the so called experts conclusions
dealing with the Earth sciences!

The Earth will take care of it's self quite well...it's got a great
track record! Man is the one that better worry about himself...and his
track record! Over 95% of all species that ever existed on the planet
are now extinct...makes ya wonder.

But I hate cold weather....I'm kinda rooting for the warmer thingy!

Here is Al Gore's comment when confronted with the inaccuracies in his
film:
"I believe it is appropriate to have an overrepresentation of factual
presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the
audience."

So be careful when watching that film - he admits he is
"overrepresenting" facts to open you up to his opinion.

OK, he did not "invent" the internet. He just says he "took the
initative in creating it." BIG difference, right? Not invented, but
more godlike created it.

No, he was probably talking about how he co-sponsored the Information and
Technology Act of 1992, opening commercial traffic on the internet. The
internet existed before that-- commercial use did not.

One could argue that the internet would look very different today without
that Act. It really isn't that much of an exaggeration. There were no
commercial "ISP's" before that

Certainly, from the point of view of someone who's being using email since
about 1981, I can say that the early '90s is when usage started becoming
quite common.

But, why rehash old silly arguments. Let's speak of something new.

If GW were a Japanese general right now, would he have committed seppuku??

It would still probably look very similar to today's look. There were
commercial companies hooked up also. We also used the research and the
email parts. And the newsgroups. The people using it would have forced it
even without AGore. Besides, he co-sponsored the act. Somebody came to him
to get him to sign on to the bill. He was not the originator, and the
originator would have been approached by a constituent.
