Default FINALLY got to do a little fishing

Went to bro-in-law's place today to wet a hook in his ½ acre farm pond.
Weather was mostly cloudy, high about 60º, winds light. He decided to
fish with me today, and headed to a different pond, on his neighbor's
property, cause it is actually closer to his house. These two ponds are
very similar in size, depth, cover, and surrounding trees. I quickly
picked up two bass about 1½ lbs each, and one short. We decided to move
to the other pond because they were biting and he wanted some for
dinner, but had not asked his neighbor about keeping fish. We fished for
about 2 hours without a nibble, trying several different baits and
presentations. Walking back to the house, we detoured to the first pond.
15 minutes gave me 2 more, about 1½ lbs. Go figure.

BTW, all fish were caught on 4" Culprit red shad curl tail worms, on
Gammy wide gap red hooks, with Cajun Red cast 10# line. I posted a while
back on this line, and I'm still impressed with its castability. I never
re-tied, landing 5 fish and losing another through lots of tree limbs in
the water, and it still didn't seem to be nicked up, even though the
Gammy hook lost some of its color. No signs of line memory yet either. I
think I like this line.

I used that line some but it seemed to get weak real fast - maybe from being in
the sun on my boat deck. Is yours exposed to the sun much. The spools seem to
weaken, too, but they were in a compartment in my boat and got real hot all
summer.

I've only had it a few weeks, only used it 3 trips. I have read
complaints elsewhere about heat damage on this line. I think before
summer I may move my rods indoors. Thanks for the heads up!
