Default Using Clams as bate

Hello everyone: I am a newbie in sal****er fishing. I was wondering
what fish goes for clams? And where do I get the clams from?

Last time I fish about a week ago, I was using chicken gizzard which
was cheap & easy to get at any supermarket, but I had no luck using it
in the waters.

I am located in New York City. I often fish at the Hudson River by
Battery Park.

Thank you!

My god! You live in NEW YORK and can't spell BAIT!?

You don't deserve to catch a fish.

I live in northern Alberta. That's in Canada, and I don't use bait. I
just spray a little WD40 on something shiny with a hook attached and get me
some fish. Worked great with salmon, trout and steelhead when I grew up on
the west coast.

Later......

Since WD40 contains petroleum distillates, you are actually polluting the waters in which
you fish. Not a good idea.

Very low boiling point distillates. About 0.001 secs of trolling with a
five horse motor. Catch fish where no others do so there's something
going on. IMHO I think it just washes off all other odors and is gone in
seconds. I've nailed steelhead on the first cast after soaking the wool
behind my spin-n-glow with it.

WD40 will always have a pocket in my vest near to my heart.
