I see lots of post by the Gloria troll here and the same situation is
replicated across Usenet. I wondering, is it time to consign Usenet to
history?

The troll known as 'Pete' has been posting under at least eight different
names in the last fortnight, often replying to himself. If he follows his
usual pattern he'll go quiet for a month or two soon.

It is certainly not time to abandon usenet - there is no suitable alternative.
For commercial reasons relating to advertising revenue a number of providers
would prefer that everyone went to www fora and for this reason they have
cynically chosen to allow usenet standards to slide. This is an excellent
reason for posters to abandon www fora, put the traffic on usenet and
complain to providers about the sloppy standards of their newsadmins.

Cheerio,
