Default TR: Warren on the Mad

Yesterday after driving what seemed endlessly on gravel roads
Warren and I fished some nice spots in Bear Trap Canyon. After a short
hike in we set to fishing. Lots of good size dark tan caddis in the air
around the water wasn t hard to figure out what to use......

Warren had tied up some flies for both of us. I did a little extra
work on his, see " At Warren s " Post of yesterday.

Anyway we sort of leap frogged up the river but everytime I looked
over to him he had a fish on. I determindly fished harder as it was
apparent he was catching about 5 fish to my one and I knew we had the
same flies.....

Well at the end of a good day for me and an incredible one for him
I asked him the secret of his success. He told me "someone" had glued
all his hook eyelets closed and he hadn t had a pick. So he just tied
the fly on into the hook bend instead. He said it really gave it a
good impression of a skittering caddis.....
I guess next time I ll have to clip his hooks.
