Default Fish Identification Help

I took my little girl to the local beck today with her net and among the
stickle back and minows was this fish.

Looked a bit unusual and wasn't sure what it was.

Any help apreciated.

Gudgeon perhaps

See i thought that at first but it dosn't have the scaling of a gudgeon.

To me it had the head of a gudgeon but the pattern of a minnow.

Yup it's a Stone Loach

I've really let myself in for it now. After catching such a wopper!! eith
her net she's wanting to come fishing with me - she's only 3!! I'll have to
get her mum to bring her for an hour!! she'll never sit still for longer.

Anyway start em young and keep em keen. I'm just about to organise the
school fishing competition.

30 - 11-14 yr olds now that could be fun.

Thanks guys

Yep I agree with most people its a Stone Loach. They are hard to
catch, I dont think you could catch them on rod and line. A net is the
best way. WELL DONE!
