modern tups materials
Superfine is a synthetic dubbing which is very easy to use. I usually find
blending the lightest pink or a little red with white and primrose to be best. I tie the fly with primrose thread and honey grizzle for both the tail and hackle. I find this is a fly that works best with a sparse hackle (For a dry) and usually like the hackle to be a little oversize, not quite to variant style, but almost. Clark "MichaelM" wrote in message ... "Clark Reid" wrote in message ... I have used blends of Superfine and fine it outstanding. The tups is a great old fly! Thanks for the response: what is superfine: I'm not familiar with it, what is its basic description? What do you use for the hackle and whisk ? Any photos of your tyings of this fly would be appreciated. I've only one of my old originals left, so need to get replicating sooner rather than later, as there's only about 6 or 7 weeks left beside the stream this season! Regards, Michael. |
