Default Need Help New to fly fishing

Hi all,

I need some help. I ma new to fly fishing and as yet have not been
successful in landing a fish. A friend of mine told me that I should
keep practicing and suggested that I obtain a "bread Fly" and practice
on mullet in a local river.

I went to several tackle shops and not one could sell me a bread fly
or even tell me what one looks like.

Does anyone in this group have a picture of one of these flies they
could send me and any information on what is involved in tying one
would be helpful.

Awaiting your reply.

Cragels

A fly that imitates a piece of bread on a hook.

Only from the "Land Down Under."

Wish I had this information 25 years ago. I used to fish a place called
"The Orange Pit" (AKA bread pool). It was just behind a small restaurant
named the Orange Pit and there was a picnic table next to the river.
Patrons often came out and threw bread into the pool and the large trout
would go mad for the bread, even though they often paid little attention to
our flies. This was a flyfishing only section of stream, so actually using
bread was prohibited - lucky for the fish.
