Default TR Penns Creek

Penns Creek was blown out from freak thunderstorm Thursday. Fished around
Friday through Sunday and Penns is still too muddy to fish.

Went to Spring Creek Friday afternoon. Fished by the hatchery. Caught
fish. Used Sulphur drys and mink nymph. Caught two HUGE fish in the batch.
One went over 6 lbs. My friend was getting ready to take a photo and when I
put my hand on it it broke the fly off at the tippet. I had a chance to
heft it and take a good look. Caught another smaller (also on the mink
nymph) that went about 2 lbs. Landed this one and put it back. Unlike
Wally, I HAD A WITNESS!!!!

Fishing Creek Saturday. Uncle Tom's pool from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM same
pool. Caught many Browns. If you were fishing a fly big enough to see it
was too f**king big for those fish. You needed a #20 BWO as the big fly #24
if you had it. Casting to risers only. Nothing else worked.

Elk Creek today. Caught 7 Browns in 2 hours. Mink nymph. Elk was still a
little off-color but nothing like Penns.

Tried to get comission from Jonas on sales to Frank due to sardine oil
sprinkled around campsite just prior to the bear incident. Jonas said no-go
as Frank was now a house account. Jonas expects to retire off of Frank and
may have an IPO soon. Trying to outdo Frank my buddy dropped an obscene
amount of cash in Jonas' shop. He figures he needs to spend more money to
do better than the one fish in 3 days of fishing next trip. I told him it
was not the number of fish but how you looked while fishing.

Better prep some damn small BWO's, Dark Blue Quills, and Tan Caddis. If
there is more rain you'll be dredging with Stonefly nymphs again. The more
weight the better the nymphing this past weekend. Sulphur nymphs worked
really well (#16) Sulphurs in the air were small (#18). Never got a take
on a Sulphur dry all weekend.
