Are you fishing the private waters at Twin Rivers, on Boone's Fork? There
ued to be a stretch called Wounded Fork that several ROFFians called
Jurassic Park, because the stretches owner had stocked several varieties
of
exotic trout, which were stream fed and enormous in size compared to what
they would normally be for that size stream in our part of the country.

I work in Boone at ASU and fish the Wilson Creek water shed and the 181
hyw
area--Steele Creek and Upper Creek.

Hello Op. Yes, i was fishing just below a cabin i am building there
in Twin Rivers. This particular section is called Blue Hole as it is
very deep. It is the only really deep section i have encountered in
the 1.5 mile stretch. I used to fish above here about a mile nearer
to Julian Price park on the Boone Fork.

I have fished Wilson Creek several times but i developed a bad hitch
in my get along in a bad car wreck 5 years ago and it is tamer waters
for me now.

Are you from Watauga County orginally, if so I probably can't tell ya a
thing about decent fishin' spots.
If not from the area, we should hook-up sometime in the future. I know quite
a few easy on the get along stream stretches.
Though I'm a bit tied up currently with work and classes, I expect to get
some fishin' time in come springtime. Though you will have to weather the
looniness and ill-tempers of myself and several others, you should stick
around ROFF, as it's a great place to make some life-long friends and
adversaries while you learn a thing or two about the politics of flyfishing!

I live just south of Charlotte, but starting in the spring i will
split time up there and here. I will drop you a line. I am up there
1-2 times per week checking on cabin progress and occasional weekend
fishing fling.

thanks for the reply. I used to post here occasionally with some trip
reports adn stuff, back before George Gherke died. I used to get
quite a chuckle from most of the posts now it seems quite a bit
political. And very personal at times.
