Default Fishing The Koi Pond

As Sean Barton would say, Randy ain't got nothing but retirement
ponds stocked with Koi. Well Jerry Barton held true to his promise of
traveling here to P.A to fish the retirement lakes with me. I didn't
have much time yesterday so I just showed him around and we did some
bank fishing. We each caught bass but nothing special. We saved that
for today. We launched at 5 a.m on one sock. When we arrived at the
lake we found an unusual item. A bassonet(sp) just sitting there,
complete with sheets I asked Jerry if maybe he had some other kids he
didn't know about. I took a picture of Jerry next to it and off we
went. Dave was already out and had already put a fish in the boat on a
topwater bite. Soon after I had my first keeper fish. Dave caught a few
more on topwaters and I was steadily hitting fish on both topwaters and
fish stix. Dave left at 9a.m with 8 fish to the boat, Jerry and I
continued to fish, I put a few more in the boat but Jerry was fishless.
I caught two more nice fish when Jerry suggested we continue to fish
that area. I saw Jerry set the hook and heard his line peel off a bit,
good fish he said, I watch as this fish launchs itself, what a fish. No
net on board as it's a rule not to have any nets on board. Jerry looked
a bit panicked. I knew this was the fish he came to get and the fish
I'd hope he got while he was here. Now just get it to the boat!. Well
Jerry did boat that fish. His scale was broke so I stripped off some
line and we did a length and girth measurement. Jerry found his tape
measure and we measured the line. 22 inch length and a 17.5 girth. It
was a beauty. If those fish calculators are right it came in just over
7 lbs. Thought I was gonna have to perform cpr on Jerry We continued to
fish a bit more there and then on the small lake for a bit, after a
friendly chat with the DNR guys. We did catch some more fish including
some nice 2-3 lb'ers. We wrapped it up at 3 and head back in. tired ,
dehydrated, but happy. A good day fishing with old friends can't be
beat. I boated 13 bass and a few pickerel, Jerry caught 3 or 4
including the beast. tomorrow it's Jerry, Me, Dave, Mike, Harry and
Jeremy in the teams tourney. Back to the sock we go. We'll post
pictures as time permits. Hope everyone else is wetting a line

Default Fishing The Koi Pond

After a year of Randy asking me to come to Pa. for a weekend, I finally made
it. What a day we had on the water. Randy was like having my own personal
guide service and he really shines on his home waters. He put about 8 or 9
in the boat before I finally set the hook good enough to get one in the
boat, and what a thrill it was, a 7.06 pounder that stop my heart when I saw
it near the boat. Picture on A.B.P.F.

Thanks, I wasn't worried about the dress, I just didn't want to shave my
legs for the panty hose.
