Default Beginner would love some advice -- Grayling & Trout

Oh boy where do I start? I'm a 20 year old woman living just a stone's
throw from the Tay and am itching to get fishing. Problem is I've
missed the trout season but Grayling seems to be in. I have no
experience with fishing and have no idea where to start. Are there
gillies who teach grayling fishing? Should I just buy the gear and go
for it? And if so what do I need. Oh dear, any help that any of you
guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. And if someone actually
lives near the Tay who wouldn't mind helping out a total newbie in
person I would be willing to pay. Thanks in advance.

ask at your local tackle shop, they should be able to give advice and put

Jo,

although, as you say, the trout season is now closed - I am sure that
there will be some commercial fisheries nearby, offering fishing for
rainbow trout in stocked ponds etc - and you might consider going there
for starters. You will be able to hire tackle, get lots of advice in
starting out, and see if fishing is for you, before you spend shedloads
on your own gear. Seems like a good place to start...

hth,

Dave
