Thanks. I feel a lot better. Apparently, Elgin watches are only 'pretty
good' quality and not so vauable; the one I got from my grandfather was
probably only worth about $20 when he bought it, worth under $60 when I
ruined it, and not worth much more today. I've always had some sneaking fear
that it was some sort of collectors item, and I destroyed a $2000 watch, but
I see it probably isn't so.
