Default Pre-Fishing Report

Okay, heading up to Ponca State Park this weekend to do a tying and
casting demonstration. Darn the bad luck, the Missouri River is still
off limits (they will confiscate your boat and gear if they catch you
on it due to the continued flooding).
The 6th through 9th of October, I'll be in Mountain Home, Arkansas for
the FFF Southern Council Conclave. The two main days of the event are
Friday and Saturday. I'm in charge of the vendors for the show. Will
get a look at the Diablo Paddlesports hybrid stand up paddle boards.
Half SUP, half kayak. REALLY sound cool.
I'll be camping at the White River/Bull Shoals campground right near
the base of the Bull Shoals dam. GREAT fishing. Will have the spey
with me for when they get all 8 generators running, 8wt for streamer
fishing the big water and my Tri-Hex 'boo 5wt for scud fishing. Still
need to tie up some zebra midges to round out my fly box.
Anybody that wants to come down for some INCREDIBLE fishing (did I
also mention that the Buffalo River down there is arguably the best
river smallie fishery in the US?), it should be a great show. Here
are some links:

So, for all of you that think fishing is over for the year (especially
you Canuckistanians), head south!

please look for big dale from texas...he used to go to mountain home for
that show every year. i'd like to know he's still dazzling folks with
his wit and yarns...if you see him, tell him the hophead sweatshirt
still serves me well and give him warm regards from his carolina friend...

diablo just came out with a new yak...nimble and worth a look. more yak
than stand-up paddle board. very well made. i've just seen the photos,
so i'll be interested in your take. sleek and stable craft.

Haven't seen Dale there, though I've only gone twice.
Will PERSONALLY check out the Diablo boats.
