Anyone ever tried to fly cast in the days immediately after having
their gall bladder removed?

Undoubtedly.

What was it like.

Presumably, better than having one's gall bladder removed and not fishing.

Mines coming out on the19th (free to a good home)

Hm......fixed or fresh (it DOES make a difference, you know)?

and I'll be off work for a couple of weeks.
Would hate to spend all my recuperation time sitting in front of my
computer monitor.

Well the 24th is a Saturday.......5 days.......hm.......that should be about
long enough for sutures, ainna? I'll bring some ethanol, scissors, forceps,
swabs, bandages, and more ethanol!

couple of weeks?

Looks good. Any Saturday. Give me several days notice.

Well, looks like Georgie is going to be recovering from surgery on the
24th.......should be weak enough that even you and I can beat the **** out
of him if he misbehaves. Whattya think?

Wolfgang
oh, and tell margaret we send our love and best wishes.

I'll send your good wishes to Margaret.

Thanks.

She's back and doing well.
Keep your pipe wrench handy!

Um.......uh......well, we were hoping she was doing even better than that,
but......well, o.k.

Wolfgang

itself is an interesting concept]) using Molson Ice (Its all we have

Well, hell, tell 'em to just go ahead and take the liver too......you won't
be using it for much longer anyway.

If they do it with the laproscope, should be fine in a couple of days, if
they have to do it the old fashioned way, that lower side is gonna be sore
for a while and you will tire easily.

Wish I could join y'all.

Back to the thread.
Any literary book, something by Rod Haig-Brown, Robert Traver or the like,
would be better to peak his interest than any technical book. You can't

really
learn fly fishing from a book.

Hell, I can't learn it any other way either.

Good luck to both of you.

Thanks.

Meant to call you weekend before last. We finally got down to TJ's but it
was a last minute thing.....zoomed down.....left a lot of money.....and
zoomed back home. Two days ago, the plumbing problem manifested itself once
again......to the tune of $550 this time.

I think I need to go fishing. What's your schedule look like for the next

I had the old fashioned way, big cut, ugly scar sort. No problem. I
was home in 3 days. The first patient to be less than a week at that
time. Now it's the norm even for the elderly (I was about 40
something then). I would have been able to wander around and fly fish
if I were very careful as soon as they let me loose. If you have the
new surgery, you should be able to be out or the house and behaving
normally by day three. If it hurts, stop doing it. If you're tired,
rest.

When I had mine done a month off work was the minimum time. I was
bored out of my mind.
