I've got no problems in having a barbecue if someone's prepared to bring one

catches on! Then again, based on our normal catch rates, we might be left
somewhat hungry! :-)

Brown ale? Tut tut...... A nice little Chardonnay surely!

Oi! Messrs Lawson and Moody. You blokes are giving us southerners a bad
name and giving ammo to the northern and western crowd that we are a
bunch of softies! Barbecues and Brown Ale! Whatever next?
We're supposed to be going there to fish not take our deck chairs and
sit by the side of the lake sunning ourselves.

not a lot of a chance of that - although given last year's heatwave...

as for the bbq, well, let's see what happens.

Had a word with the boss, picked the right moment, and the good news
is that I am in for this weekend. I'll be going for the camping option,
but I do suggest that some of you get together to let the farmhouse, if
camping ain't your thing.

Bill - sorry if you're not too keen on Cwellyn - but do remember that
you are slap in the middle of some of the most scenic lakes in the
country - especially if you have a look at Llyn Nantlle or Llyn Padarn -
all of which are 'run' by the same AA. There is also the stocked lake,
for those who don't fancy their chances with the local brownies.
There's river fishing a'plenty, too - but this will of course depend
upon the recent rainfall.

I'm bringing Chardonnay, just don't tell the boss.

pffft, I don't fight with the defenceless. Bit like stockie-bashing.

I dunno! What next? Take our wives and kids with us?

no, but bring a model... :+) get some free flying lessons in...you'll
get bored casting away with no result. (dons asbestos suit)

look fwd to seeing you there all,

cheers

When I was there in 2002 with uk.rec.walking Graham (The Landlord) let
us have a BBQ - I think he has a metal one one site. Anyway the little
disposable ones are fine.

Are there some decent slopes! Hmm... two hobbies in one
trip, I shall have to rewind and check the dates. Mind you,
the Avon, Bourne and all those cute rivers around here are
usually enough.

Have fun y'all

Let me know what you think (via this group) to this as a possibility and I
would suggest that if it's a goer we need to get definite numbers and

should
try and book up very quickly.

So far, only three definite:

Myself
Alec Powell
Reg Sweetmore

Two possible:

Dave Lane - Current workload getting in the way of concentrating on this :-)
Derek Moody - Probably need to make his own arrangements nearer the time

No one else?

Regards,

Andy Lawson

Alec, Reg, Andy and Dave,

A pal of mine has been commissioned to do some research on North wales
fisheries by the Welsh Tourist Board. he has just returned from a few
days in N. Wales and has given me some information regarding a fairly
new fishery near Cerrigydrudion - we usually go through there to get to
Brenig. I've tried e-mailing the info but the mail gets rejected
somewhere along the line.

Please e-mail me so that I can be sure of your adresses.

The Fishery is:

Llyn Derwen Fisheries
Fawnog Rhydd
derwen
LL 21 9RN

telephone: 01824 750 667

It is about 6 miles out of Cerrigydrudion on the Ruthin Road. There is
camping available at the Giler Pub which is about 2 miles out of
Cerrigydrudion. My pal has contacts in "The Crown" another Pub close by
which has specialist beers !!!!

I
l'll email details to anyone above who wants them.

Hi folks,
I have some info on another fishery near Cerrigydrudion. Llyn Derwen
Fishery which is situated about 6 miles out of Cerrigydrudion on the
Ruthin Road. the post code is LL 21 9RN

Phone: 01824 750 667

The fishing is bank fishing on a 4 acre lake.

The is camping available at The Giler pub about 2 miles out of
Cerrigydrudion on the same road. a pub with camping - can't be bad :-)

Another Pub worth a visit is the Crown - this is also near by and has
specialist beers.

I'll e-mail details to anyone above who wants them.

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but you can see photos of the
Cwellyn camp site on my web-site. Follow the Walks Link to Expedition 12
- Nantlle Ridge.

If I don't make it - it may be because I'll be in Snowdonia anyway with
another NG......uk.rec.walking.

Have a great time.
