You'll likely receive the same reply the fellow got when asking about
Muskoka fishing spots!
The famous answer of the year was "anywhere"

My parents have a cottage near Combermere, on the Madawaska River.
South of them, one branch splits off into the York River.

If the York is anything like the Madawaska, fishing will be tough.
There's a lot of road access to these rivers, which means fishing
pressure is intensive.

Mike! My family had a cottage on Long Lake (or Halfway Lake) for 40 odd
years. Gawd, I miss it!
I'd like to know if there's road access to the York near to where it enters
the Madawaska. It's the one thing I want to do before I die is to fish the
flats below the old corundum mines. If not, I wanna go spelunking those same
mines, but fishing first!
Of course, I'm speaking of open water, spring, summer, or fall access. Not
this insanity of freezing my butt off while dropping a line thru a
itty-bitty hole in the ice . . . brrrrr. Suggestions would be welcomed. Or
you could send an invite to visit the parent's cottage, if only to allow me
to feel even more depressed over not having a cottage of my own to go to up
there. sigh
