Default Volunteers Needed for VT Fishing Program

VOLUNTEERS WHO LOVE TO FISH NEEDED FOR "LET'S GO FISHING" PROGRAM
Vermont's "LET'S GO FISHING" Program is looking for volunteers who love to
fish and want to pass on the fishing tradition to children and their
families. According to Mark Scott, Education Program Manager for the Vermont
Fish & Wildlife Department, men and women of all ages and all areas of the
state are invited to attend the next Instructor Workshop, March 20 & 21 in
Barre.

"Here's what it takes," says Scott. "If you love to fish, want to teach
others, care about the ethical use of Vermont's water resources, and you
want to volunteer with the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, we want to
hear from you." Instructors in the "LET'S GO FISHING" Program organize
fishing clinics in their communities or schools to teach successful fishing
techniques and ethical attitudes to Vermont's next generation of anglers.

The two-day Instructor Workshop teaches fishing techniques, ethics, water
resource management, and tackle craft. Classes are informal, and it is not
necessary to have a high level of fishing expertise to become an Instructor.
Teachers of all grade levels are invited to learn how to use "LET'S GO
FISHING" across the curriculum from elementary through high school.
There is no cost to participants for registration, meals or instruction.
Saturday night lodging is provided for those living too far away to commute.

The Workshop runs from 8:30 to 4:30 both Saturday and Sunday, March 20 & 21.
It will be held at the Barre Fish and Game Clubhouse. To register, or for
more information, call Tresita Beach at 802-872-0330, or e-mail
. Or write to Fish & Wildlife, P.O. Box 1833, Williston,
VT 05495.
For Immediate Release: March 4, 2 004 Media Contacts: Tresita M. Beach (802)
872-0330 or Mark Scott (802)241-3712
