First tourney of the season tomorrow. Temps are supposed to drop in the mid 40s for a high and rain in the morning. Got my paper rain suit and my Zebco ready. Hell.....at least I'll be fishing. Just hoping to be doing some catching as well......

Now that is just plain cruel Joe. It should be close to 50 Sat and 55
Sunday here in WI.

Hey Chris are you looking for a fishing partner Sunday?

Well now.......That was plainly the most miserable day of fishing I believe I have ever had in my life. Rained all day long with temperature around 40 degrees with a constant wind making it feel in the low 30's. To top it off, around 11am it turned to sleet and before that was over (about an hour and a half), there was almost an inch of ice in the boat. Myself, I didn't do too well but learned quite a few lessons. However, my best friend and fishing buddy that lives about a block from me won the tournament!!!! It was the first fishing tournament he has ever won in his life as he only started fishing tournaments last year and he won it from the back of the boat as it is a draw tournament(ABA, District 10). He ended up with three fish for a total weight of 9.74 lbs!!! He missed lunker by only 2 100ths of an oz. But you know what the best part of the whole things was?????? He caught all of his fish on a birthday present I gave him last year. Right out of the package white and chartreuse SECRET WEAPON SPINNER BAIT. I got him three for his birthday last year and he caught every fish that day on a 1/4 oz with a small silver Colorado front spinner and a gold larger willowleaf back spinner. When I asked him what was the blade arrangement, he said he didn't know (he didn't know the difference between a Colorado and a willowleaf). He just said he opened the package and tied it on and added a white split-tail trailer. He had, in the past, had rather inconsistent hookups when using a spinner bait. He told me he landed EVERY fish that hit on the Secret Weapon. 100% success rate Needless to say, I am extremely proud of my fishing buddy.......

By the way, my buddy Barry would like to express his most sincere gratitude to Mr. Rickard and his wonderful product!!!! I sincerely believe that a Pro Kit order will soon be in the making.......

A 3lb average is not bad at all at stingy old Hopatcong. Especially
from the back of the boat. BTW, what were the water temps like?

Thanks for the good report, Sandon.

When I lived on Hopatcong a few years back, I could tell it would make a
good spinnerbait lake, but that was years before I met Rickard and his
Secret Weapons. I'm glad to read that Barry cashed in. Too bad he wasn't in
the ABA Special Ops program; that win would have netted him a $50 tackle
pack plus a shot at the April $500 drawing.

Dang, I should have bucked the winds longer. 2 fish for me. Both on SW
Bleeding Minnow. 20+ mph winds on a no gas motor lake. 3 hours and I
discovered the disks I herniated in my neck months ago are still not up to
white caps and rollers. I pussed out. sigh! :-(
Great job Sandy!
