Got a week off with an itching to do some flshing. Anyone planning
anything interesting?

Warren Findley and I fished one of the spring creeks just outside
of Livingston, Montana around that time one year. They charge like
$100 a rod during the summer and it's packed, in February we paid
25-30 bucks apiece and we had the place practically to ourselves.
It was a hoot, we had a slightly overcast day with the high temp
almost 40F and we had the use of a warming hut that we didn't
really need. I think it was Depuy's but as I recall Armstrong and
Nelson's are open too. The weather is unpredictable but even the
really cold days don't feel all that cold because it's so dry out
there.

On the other hand, there's always the southern hemisphere. ;-)

While the Montana creeks sound nice (but cold), the Southern
Hemisphere has a stronger appeal. You interested in doing something NZ
South Islandish, or maybe Patagonian? I have time....

Blizzard hitting here in about 36 hours. Will be ready for something
about then if I win the lottery.

Actually, that is a perfect time for Patagonia.

Interested ? Yeah, of course. But I'm on grand jury duty from December
to March and I need to be in Urbana every other Thursday. I have enough
time between grand jury sessions to make a quick trip out west, but not
enough to go to Patagonia.

Hope you find a good trip.
