I was just on the reaction innovations website to restock on the W.W.Hooks,
and I discover that they are discriminating against Arizona. Arizona isn't
in their list of states ont he checkout out form, and "Other" doesn't work.

Instead of asking us why don't you ask them?

On a sunday afternoon? I did think it was interesting though when I

noticed
they had an Arizona phone number. Oh, and I did ask them via e-mail...
Hopefully they will answer. Of course I looked for some of their

resellers,
and I found www.TackleWarehouse.com had the hooks at a good price.

Make sure you post the answer if you get one. My curiosity has been aroused.
Guam, Virgin Islands and not Arizona? Something doesn't seem right.
Coincidence that they're located in the state that's missing? Are they not
equipped to collect and forward sales tax? Although that doesn't sound
right. Hmmmm.

I thought about the sales tax item.

I actually got a call from the guy with Reaction Innovations a few minutes
ago. He said, "I got your nasty ass e-mail. I'm not going to fill out
sales tax forms for guys who just buy a couple bags of baits." He went on
to say that, "That's why they have dealers." I tried to explain that I had
tried to buy the stuff I wanted from the local dealer who actually does sell
some Reaction Innovations stuff, but who after multiple requests has refused
to stock the W.W.Hooks. He responded that I could buy his stuff or not and
hung up on me.

Wow! I guess for drop shotting I'll have to use the Standup Hook by Daiichi
from now on. Not sure what I will do for a wacky worm hook. Any
suggestions?

P.S. Anybody who can should get a copy of the latest AZOD magazine. I now
feel really bad that I wrote an article for them on stick worms and wacky
worming that features the W.W.Hook. Oh, well. I still feel the W.W.Hook is
a decent product, but as the guy who called me said. I can buy his products
or not. I had found another on-line source, but now I really feel sick
about using this product.

I will still use the W.W.Hooks until I run out of the order enroute through
Tackle Warehouse, but I will definitely look for an alternative hook. Maybe
get some bait holders and tie my own mono weedguards. I caught a lot of
fish using a bait holder for wacky worming before I discovered the W.W.Hook.
As to their soft plastic line. I just don't have a lot of confidence in it
so its no big loss. Although I have to be honest I know two guys who are
very good sticks that swear by the Beaver Tail, and Wide Beaver.

As to you not using them, that is your choice. I won't cut off my nose to
spite my face, but I sure won't promote him again.

The really funny thing is this is the second small soft plastics
manufacturer that I have dealt with who threw a temper tantrum about
negative feedback. Most of the big guys like Culprit have always been
extremely responsive to feedback both negative and positive. (I have a
bunch of Culprit plastic in my boat.)

I asked him why he was discriminating against Arizona. I guess it is a

sore
subject to him to have to fill out his monthly sales tax reports and send
them in so he refuses to do so. I suppose my e-mail could have been

worded
more tactfully. As an Arizona business man myself I have my own axe to
grind with the Arizona Department of Revenue, but there was no need to

have
him take out his frustrations on me. Hmmm..... Maybe I could yell at

every
one of my repeat customers because I have to pay taxes when they put

money
in my pocket. LOL.

If he hadn't hung up on me I would have pointed out that he might able to
request to only report sales taxes quarterly. Some businesses are

allowed
that privilege. I never looked into it myself, but I have heard that it

is
possible.

That's terrible that he acted like that. I don't know how guys like that

stay
in business. I know I won't consider the use of his products now as a

result of
his complete lack of professionalism.

My guess is this - the guy that Bob made contact with was not the owner,
just a grunt employee. That would explain his lack of motivation &
courtesy. I'd bet, in fact, that RI's owner would like to hear about the
way Bob was treated.

I don't know. He gave his name, but I really do not remember it. He was
very liberal with the words "I" and "my." He sure sounded like the head
cheese.

Been wondering where you were. Sorry to hear about your mother Henry,
please accept my condolences.

As for using his junk, lol.

This Reaction Innovations character is different from Rodney though;
Whereas Old Rod yells at everyone that doesn't use his snake-oil or buy into
his gadgets (does anyone?), this fella let loose on a guy that was already a
customer & user of his goods.

Maybe he was just an employee, but maybe not. There are a lot of people
out there who can put a product and company together who have no people
skills. If they offer someone the product they want, with a good enough
price, some people will overlook their poor attitude to get it. I had a
boss with such poor people skills that customers would call the office
and ask for me to call them when I had time. They liked the service I
provided enough, and disliked his poor manners enough, to wait a day in
order to get what they needed. Maybe it's a flaw in my character, but
I've always managed to put a smile on my face for my customers and THEIR
customers, and it sets me off when someone that wants MY hard-earned
money is rude and insulting. They may not even be directing their
rudeness at me, but if it's done in front of me, it's just as rude.
As for Rodney, I read here to R-E-L-A-X, and learn how to be a better
fisherman, and his posts usually left me feeling like I'd just been
chewed out by a mother-in-law. I never liked Jerry Springer for
relaxation, either.
I now know how Randy must feel before ice-out. It's been forever since
I've been able to fish. Work was too busy in the heat, then my mother
died after a few days in the hospital, and I spent a week out of town
helping my father, and now work's behind again, and I'm about as
frazzled as I've ever been. Thank God for you guys and the TFF, so I can
at least get an hour or two here and there to relax, and fish vicariously.
Okay, I've rambled long enough, I better get some sleep.
Sorry I went on so long.
