There's a lot of controversy here in the state about fishing tournaments in
general. Objections seem to be "the boats go too fast," "tournament bass
guys are rude and arrogant," "tournament anglers shouldn't get any special
priviledges (culling) over the general fishing population," "tournament guys
are killing all our fish," "tournaments ruin the fishing," blah, blah blah!

If you want to read some of the attitudes going around in the state, click
on this link.

What hurts too is that the Wisconsin Lake Association, a group of lake
property owners have somehow gotten their private agenda worked into the new
proposed regulations, which make large scale tournaments virtually
impossible here in Wisconsin. Evidently their attitude is NIMBY (Not In My
BackYard) when it comes to tournaments!

Personally, I think it's terribly narrowminded and short-sighted of these
people, but what do I know??

Yep, gonna upgrade to an 07. Might try a Verado 275 (undecided about that)
on the back and different electronics too. Maybe a different color as well,
something that's more video tape friendly. Wanna be the first on your block
with a FastCat? :-)

Steve,

All I saw on that link was a description of a boat for sale. Does there
exist a summary of the tournament proposals? I don't know that the FLW
letter provides exactly what I'd like to know.

Interesting read of the FLW's proposals. Sounds like the whole thing
virtually eliminates small club tournaments no matter what happens.
