Default Request your input on Secret Weapon Logo

This newsgroup was the launchpad for the Secret Weapon Spinnerbait, and many
of you were field testers and have been constant in your support and
encouragement over the years. We appreciate that. Can we ask you to help us
out again? We'd like to tap into your opinion as savvy fishing tackle
consumers.

We're going to be making some additions and changes to the SWL lines, and
we're contemplating a possible logo change. If you're interested, take a few
minutes to look at the two logos at
http://secretweaponlures.com/SecretWeapon-logo-opts.gif(you'll want to
maximize the GIF image so it appears correctly), and then reply the
questions below.

From all the responses submitted by Sunday 8 PM Central Time, I will pick
one person at random, announce his name here, and let him or her select a
lure of his choice from our Website. You can e-mail your input directly to
me or reply here.

Which logo (top or bottom) best suggests:
1. Action, Excitement....
2. Secret, Mystery....
3. Power, Strength....
4. High Performance....
5. Good value....
6. Stability, Dependability....
7. Fun, Enjoyment....
8. Any other impressions?
9. Which would attract your attention and create the most positive response?
10. Which would you prefer to have embroidered on your shirt or cap?
11. Which would you prefer to have as a window or boat decal?
12. Any other observations?

I knew I could count on your, Ken. When you think of fishing lures, canned
meat probably comes to mind, but we were thinking of something more along
the lines of a bass in the logo.

Thanks for playing anyway.

Joe

Yeah, I've always been opposed to SPAM on non-commercial
Usenet newsgroups. And I'll always bitch about SPAM when
I see SPAM on non-commercial Usenet newsgroups.

Count on it.

Joe, I am not a regular here, but I still lurk from time to time. I have
plenty to do watching over my little Carolina Skiff group.

However, my impression of the two logos was VERY clear....

As soon as I flashed your page up, the TOP logo gave me a powerful
suggestion that the bass was attempting to attack and swallow the "S" in the
name. It amazed me just how powerful I felt that. I don't often react much
to the tons of advertising that we all see.

The only suggestion that I would make would be to either make the bass a
little bigger, or the "S" a little smaller, to further amplify that "eating"
feeling that I experienced.

All the rest of your questions ask for logical responses...I don't think I
buy smaller fishing items on logic, very often.

regards, RichG TX/IL

The top logo has more IMPACT. It will also be a cleaner look for embroidery
or screen printing.
The bigger bass will catch everyone's eye, and I believe that is the "hook"
so to speak.
