Looks like a Dusky to me.

That is an "Atlantic Pointer" shark excellent table fair, I have caught
hundreds of them, they don't get much bigger than that

Perhaps, but it seems too small for a dusky. Dogfish more likely.

Googled Atlantic Pointer and got nothing. Could that be a local name
for a shark? There is a great white pointer shark, but I doubt that
is what it is. I'll stick with dogfish. d;o)

These are very, very, common along the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico,
like I said I have caught hundreds of them over the years
