bluegill question
I'm a little new to fishing and had a quick question...
Me and some friends were fishing for bluegill the other week and we were getting a lot of them. However, the bigger ones had a streak of yellow under their mouths that extended about an inch or two toward their bellies. Is this bad or is that normal? Thanks.... |

bluegill question
Many of the bluegill species have a colored throat. Sometimes yellow
(pumpkinseed) and often a dark red or orange in large bluegill. The color is normal, but doesn't help much to identify which specie you are talking about. The coloration varies not only among the various bluegill (sunfish) species, but also differ in the sexes, and there is a wide variation in different locations. http://www.fw.vt.edu/efish/families/bluegill.html "dude" wrote in message ... Thanks for the info. I thought it might be something bad to eat.
