Default HOOK UP WITH COSATA RICA'S TOP FISHING CAPTAINS

Book with Americana Sportfishing - our captains catch fish!

I've been pretty busy lately with family and other matters, so it's
been a while since I've posted here. Now is the time to give you a
little reminder, because we're already receiving lots of requests for
the spring of 2006.

Don't wait until all Costa Rica's top-gun captains are booked. Call
Americana Sportfishing - www.americanasportfishing.com - toll-free at
1-866-888-6425, 1-800-634-0012 and 1-866-978-5198, or e-mail
to book your 2005 and 2006 fishing charters and
packages. We'll hook you up with the country's finest captains
while they still have open dates to ensure an exciting trip and lots of
fish.

As a veteran newspaperman once told me: 'I wrote my best stories with
scissors". So I'm going to let my clients and captains write some
of this column for me.

I start out with Lynn Ross, one of my favorite clients because he
fishes with me every year, and because he's a hard-nosed Texas tax
lawyer whose services I might need some day. He writes: "Wow, another
great trip. As usual we had a great time with Eddie (Brown and the
22-foot Bull Shark out of Tortuguero on the Caribbean), he is the best.
We really liked Tortuga Lodge, the staff was very friendly. The hotel
Grano de Oro (in San Jos=E9) was really nice. The girls loved it.

"The bus to Jac=F3 was great, the only way to go. The Club Del Mar was
nice. The fishing was outstanding. The (42-foot) Spanish Fly was great
and Captain Daniel Espinoza must be one of the best captains in the
world. We hooked up five sails and boated four in only three hours of
fishing. We were tired so we came in at noon.

"The (26-foot) Predator and Captain Tim Blair were equally great, we
really enjoyed Tim and RJ, they were fun to fish with and we caught so
many fish we were releasing them: wahoo, tuna and dorado". Thanks
Lynn,

Todd Erber, who took his family on the 40-foot Plautus out of Flamingo
in the North Pacific with Captain Luis Ru=EDz on May 10, sent this note
to us: "Just wanted to let you know what a great time my family had
on the Plautus. Captain Luis was top notch, and the crew of Miguel and
Roman made sure we were taken care of - we never had to ask or reach
for a beverage.

"We had a great day of fishing catching a bonito, a yellowfin tuna
and four sailfish, all in the 100 lb range. The boat was one of the
nicest I saw in the Flamingo area and I would recommend this boat and
captain to everyone. Thanks for the help in making it a great fishing
day."

Even yours truly had a crack. I spent a couple of days in mid-April out
at Los Sue=F1os marina on the Spanish Fly with my long-time San Diego
buddies Dean Burriston and Pete Hill, who come down every year. This
time they brought along another pal: Shrek, the cuddly stuffed
womanizer doll who became the center of everyone's attention and
eclipsed us all. The four of us, with Captain Daniel Espinoza's able
assistance, caught three sails and 17 tuna up to 50 lbs.

This was in April. Just a couple of days before that Eddie Reno and his
three friends fished with Captain Bill Gannon on the 33-foot Unique out
of Quepos in the Central Pacific. As Bill told us, "the first day was
slow for sails: four raised, just one landed. Next day we decided to go
out for roosters. So my boat guard and Dempsey (Bill's great mate)
spent the night catching moonfish and sardines.

"We ran south toward Dominical - we got one rooster just out of
Quepos on the way down, along with some mackerel and needlefish, and
two in Dominical. They guys really wanted to get a fourth; and on the
way back, they sure did - the largest roosterfish in my 17 years
fishing here, 53 =BD inches long".

Captain Bill Kieldsen of the 35-foot Sailfish out of Los Sue=F1os marina
also had a personal best with a group put together by our client Craig
Temple on April 15. As well as going 13 for 16 with sails and catching
four yellowfin tuna, the guys landed a 70-lb dorado, the biggest caught
on Bill's boat in his 30 years of charter fishing.

Bill's clients catch fish - which is why we book him, as attested
to by another client: "Thanks Richard. I've been telling all of my
friends about the Sailfish and Costa Rica fishing. Hope to come back
again next year. Kaveh Matin and family" (who, if I remember, also
brought over a dozen sails to the boat).

On the Caribbean coast, we booked Charlie and Ralph Anderson with
Captain Eddie Brown on April 22, 23 and 24. "Had a great time on the
Bull Shark", writes Charlie. "'Coach' Eddie Brown was fabulous.
In two days we boated six nice tarpon and hooked into a few more. I'm
sending photos of my brother Ralph and me. Mine was so big I couldn't
get it out of the water".

From another client, Keith Mozena: "I wanted to get a quick note back

out to you with a thank you for setting us up with the Sailfish. Our
charter with Bill and (mate) Randall was great: six sailfish brought to
the boat, including a double header where we successfully released
both! And finally one Mahi Mahi (dorado). Overall a very good day of
fishing and pretty good day of 'catching'.

"Aside from the sailfish double header, another couple of highlights:
1) my wife Kelly, caught her first sailfish that Bill estimated at 160
lbs - it was huge! 2) My friend's wife Lisa also caught her first
sal****er fish ever, a good sized sail."

Here's a shortlist of some of our other clients: Sam Crimaldi and
three buddies - six sails April 22 on the Spanish Fly; Charlie and
Ralph Anderson on the Caribbean coast with Captain Eddie Brown and the
22-foot Bull Shark - nine tarpon on April 22, 23 and 24; Steven Urso
in Quepos: two roosters on April 21 on the 23-foot High-Tec, two sails
on the 30-foot Tranquilo II with Captain Francisco Barrantes four days
later.

John Hennigan of FishRapRadio.com: six sails April 30 on the 36-foot
Hoo's Up with Captain Dana Thomas out of Los Sue=F1os, plus six sails
and a big dog-tooth snapper on May 1 on the Spanish Fly; Craig Keener,
brother Chip and friend Scott Aiken: one marlin and two sails on the
31-foot Wet Ass II with Captain Sonny Kocis out of Flamingo on May 10,
two sails and four yellowfin tuna with Sonny the day after, then on May
12 tuna, dolphin and several dorado on the Plautus.

And so on and so on. As I said, requests are coming in for the last six
months of this year and winter/spring of 2006. Don't be left behind.
