Default September 20th... Sort of a TR

Went fishing. The River is low and cold and there wasn't much
happening. A few bugs and a few fish. Ended up wading through the
least productive stretch of the River (for me at least) due to being
cut off by a surly spinfisherman who jumped in below me. Oh well.
Caught fish on Pass Lakes, Madame X's and Zebra midges. A few more
times and that'll be it.

For some reason Photobucket makes the pics darker than they are on the
'pute or in the camera. Oh well... again.

Very pretty river. Thanx Is this stream mostly spring fed? From the
look of the banks etc, it looks like the flows are relatively uniform.

Not really, although due to lack of rain most of the water in the
River back then *was* from springs. With normal rainfall it usually
runs at about twice the CFS. The lack of rain also meant the water was
unusually clear. In a more typical year the water is about the tint of
strong tea, due to tannin from the surrounding swamps and feeder
streams.

OTOH, the River is not as 'flashy' as some other area streams. This
would indicate, I suppose, a fairly healthy watershed.
