Default North Carolina Party Boats

Hi all:
I am lookng for info/experiences that you have had on the party boats
that run long range (18/24 hour) trips out of North Carolina (Morehead
city and that area). I wonder what you really catch and how much of it.
Good and bad stories welcome.

Thanks
Hans

Default North Carolina Party Boats

Hans,

For over 25 years I've traveled to Morehead City to fish a 24 hour trip on
the Captain Stacy. The fare is approximately $120 and worth every penny. It
helps if you have your own pole, their rods are heavily used. The Captain
Maurice Davis is one of the highest respected Party Boat captains on the
East Coast, and will put you on the fish.

Their catches usually include.
A variety of Snapper
Trigger Fish
Grouper
Amberjack
Cobia
and a multitude of other reef/bottom fishes.

When I was in my late teens and young twenties I used to drive 10 hours 1
way from Akron, Ohio to fish on this boat 3-4 times a year.

If you take a light pole (20-30# class) you might get lucky with a cigar
minnow or a small live bait and hook up a King Mackeral or Dolphin.

This boat comes highly recommended.

Good luck and lock your drag down.
