Default OT - Midsummer Festival

Hey you all!

Next weekend will be the midsummer festival here in Finland.

And normally there will many drown during this celebration.
Typically these people are
- male
- drunken ( at least 0.15% of alcohol in blood )
- the fly of the trouses open

Have a nice midsummer!

In one of the places where I used to work there was a kind of a bet
system, where the winner was the one who had the best guess on the
number of drowned people.

There were quite a few people working there, but often there was only
one winner, which shows that there is a lot of variation.

A bit grotesque, but of course you could always guess zero.

Osmo Have a nice midsummer!

You too!

BTW, I think our pre-clave plan sounds quite good. Let's meet up north
a couple of days before the clave. We'll sort out the details before
you leave for your holiday. When are you going?

Jarmo,

We are going to leave on July 17. for Salla and one week later for Naatamo.
The preliminary plan is that we will be back in Oulu on friday, July 30.
Need one night for sleeping and then on saturday morning, July 31,
redy to go!

How does this sound for you? We could change mobile phone
numbers before my vacation.

Have they found a new way of absorbing alcohol?

There seems to be something terribly "Finnish" about that, not sure why. And
we are going deep into the mountains to fish with these people.
Hmmm.......... :-)

Enjoy midsummer - and keep your fly zipped!

At least if you are a man and take buse!
Alcohol and an unzipped fly is very dangerous combination for a man.

I have read that many of the people who fall overboard from commercial
fishing boats are found ( if they are found at all) with the fly of
their trowsers ( RW check the spelling on that, I'm confused by the
Norwegian spelling of it) open. I can see the same thing happening in
a pontoon boat, canoe or that jet powered kayak that someone was
pimping here.

Sounds perfect. I will take the night train from Helsinki to Oulu on
Friday, July 30 (or the morning train on Saturday, I don't know the
timetables yet).

Yes.

BTW, are you returning to Finland immediately after the clave, on
Tuesday 10.8.? I'm looking for a way to get back to Finland as soon as
possible after the clave, since I am then going up north with my
buddies.
