Here's an oldie for our helpful and anonymous friend. This
one used to be quite popular on roff but has fallen by the
wayside of late. Now seems like a good time to dust off one
of roff's all-time favorites and offer it up just for you
Mr. Anonymous.

**** off and die.

This is a good thing too. Lots of anglers are helpful friendly folks,
as
are a lot of Americans, and this place just gets us all a bad name.

It's called natural selection. You can live with ROFF, or die without
it,
it's your choice.

What a MAROON!

I've seen "natural selection" used many times over the last few years to
help describe/explain how some people manage to stick around here, i.e. some
'evolve' to tolerate it.

I think it's probably a reasonably accurate model, just like some creatures
can 'evolve' to tolerate polluted waters that would quickly kill a Brook
Trout, some people can tolerate more ROFF than others.

Wrong! It's not a model at all. It's what ya call yer hackneyed
"metaphor". Individual organisms don't evolve at all in the Darwinian
sense. Species do.....individuals don't. They live long enough to
breed.....or they don't. Unfortunately, not enough of them don't. Oh
well, that's life.

But any attempt to
make either 'evolved' creature, the polution tolerant scum dweller or the
ROFFian, somehow seem "better" than the "non-evolved" Brook Trout or human
creature that demands more a more pristine environment is, imho, simply
silly ...

Unlike this extended exercise in.....what?.....self-congratulatory
mindless rambling which we should all take seriously while nodding
sagely in the vain hope that someone who matters will be watching?

Yeah, that's gonna happen.

Wolfgang

Kick back and enjoy unlimited SPAM and almost zero content is
more like it.

I can't believe I wasted ten minutes doing that. Geezus, I should
have known better than to sign up for the commercial version of
alt.flyfishing.

Thanks for nothin', Tim.

Hi Ken,

It's far more than you think. For one, it is not Spam at all (no ads).
They offer flyfishing radio podcasts, articles, news and a lot, lot
more. NewsGator archives over a million RSS feeds, blogs and this
particular cool-assed feature searches for the word flyfishing in these
feeds. It's freaking awesome dude. I will admit that some of the top
hits (for flyfishing) right now are a little crazy, like it picked up a
new feed that might need to be blocked or something/ Give it a chance
though for sure. Did you see Steelhead Hammer or how about
http://www.flyfishradio.com/index.php?

Your pal,

This group may have been the "only show in town" at one time, but
there
are plenty of nice places on the web now, nobody needs to come here
and
listen to the ranting. This group will slowly die out, as the main
perpetrators, who would not be allowed to post anywhere else anyway,
folks like Fortenberry and Wolfgang, continue their destructive
behavior.

This is a good thing too. Lots of anglers are helpful friendly folks,

Why on earth would I want to do that, when I'm perfectly happy where I am?

Could be, but as far as I can tell, you still get _excellent_
responses if you post a question that is on topic.
