Default shad patterns

anyone have any shad patterns for the west coast that they would share? the
fish are in the American river. I think that I'll give it a try this year.

Default shad patterns

Two effective flies for shad in MD. are a size 8 red over yellow maribou
winged streamer with a silver or gold tinsel wrapped shank and a size
10 bead head Green Weenie...JC
