After winding the last of my Memorial Day business, I took a few hours
off to go fishing. The river in town was too low! Even though we're in
runoff, they were pulling enough water out so that there was no flow
through town. Went upstream to my next access point and the river was
too high! Strange. There a lake at that access that I occasionally fish.
Got out the bellyboat and set off. Had my best day going at the lake
when a storm blew me off the water.

Nice, Willi. What flies do you use for smallmouth?

Outstanding. What a day. I really liked that solo smallmouth photo.

Most on Buggers but I caught a couple on a small black deer hair popper
which was REAL fun.

An FRX 9' 5 weight

I really like the rod. Very powerful without being extremely fast. I was
throwing a deer hair popper in the wind with little problem. It can
handle throw weight and still handle a small dry well.

Thanks Wayne, but I have to tell you that I had to "stitch together five
photos to get it and that not only were the pictures taken on a digital,
the "stitching" was done on a COMPUTER!

I didn't do a very careful job rotating when taking the pictures so I
had to do some smudging to get them to blend in a couple of places. I
did a fast job and you can still see the seams.
