Default A Challenged To SW Joe !

I'm gonna bet crazy Joe Heaubonehoffer of Secret Weapons fifteen lamb chops,
two veal cutlets and a dolphin fish that by the end of the year another
study challenges the one in Norway -(where, throughout the course of their
18 month winter -night they all go nuts and suck on raw fish) and that it
proves two things. . .

1 Worms hurt ~!

2- Common sense prevails again over junk science !

love n kisses,

I looked up this definition in the well known dictionary by Joshuall
Webster.
______________________________________
Junk Science [junk si-ense]: N. Research results that don't support my pet
opinions. As in, "What do you mean the earth is round... that's junk
science!"
______________________________________

On one hand, a team of prominent veterinary scientists, following several
months of intensive laboratory research, having subjected their methodology
and findings to peer review and delivering their results to the government
who commissioned the study, are wrong. They claim (chortle) that earthworms
do not feel pain.

On the other hand, we have Joshuall, who has with his own eyes seen worms
wiggle when he poked them with a hook, and who imagines how he would feel if
a big ol' worm poked him with a hook. He, too, would writhe in pain. So,
based on intuition and imagination, horse sense, and.... uh, well, that's
about it.... Joshuall states emphatically that worms do, indeed, feel pain.

Well, that settles it for me. Next time the government should just save
their time and money and call Joshuall when they want to know something. :-)

Joe

I think spring is near - robins in my yard and I heard doves calling
yesterday. 62 today - gotta get rid of this cold. I am going to West
Point tomorrow to meet two guys for an article - they are fishing a
tournament and I am going for pictures, and plan on taking my boat and
fishing some. Of course they are predicting rain and a high of 52
tomorrow!

Aw... Ya gots me! I'm just a chicken... a worm eatin' chick.... I like
hearin' 'em scream when I nips they's little wiggly heads off. Or maybe it
they's little squiggly tails. Ah can't always tell the difference.

Say, Joshuall, since you're a world-class worm expert, I guess you'll
know.... do worm's tail ends taste as good as their head ends?

The research that Joshuall totally dismissed refers only to invertebrates.
Want to read a fishing article referring to findings that fish, too, can't
feel pain? See http://www.donmeredith.ca/outdoorsmen/FeelinNoPain.html

The author asks a great question (interestingly, the same question that
Joshuall asked, too, I think): "So what?"

Whether or not a fish, cricket, or worm feels pain shouldn't really make any
difference in our decision to fish. Don't let PETA frame the debate on
whether or not it is "right" or "wrong" to fish and hunt. They may fool the
public, but don't let them suck us in, too. Let's not give credence to
PETA's proposition that "pain = bad" and "causing pain = doing evil." The
rightness of fishing and hunting has nothing to do with pain.

Pain, in the final sense, is good. Imagine our trying to get through life
without it. I'd give the human race less than even odds of surviving ten
years, under those conditions.

We shouldn't stake out a position, as the Oslo research might tempt us to,
that hurting some animals is acceptable because they don't feel pain. That
just begs the question, "Is it right, then, to treat an a pain-feeling
animal in such a way as to cause it pain?"

Our position must be, whether or not an animal feels pain, it is proper for
us to hunt or harvest them. Then we must be prepared to offer the reason why
that is so.

Can you?

Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing
that moveth upon the earth.
