Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, and
probably Mississippi... They all have a certain amount of year round
bassin'. Just go where you want and inquire at the local tackle stores
about fishing guides or do an internet search on the area you'ld like to go.

If you make your own hotel arrangmeents and do your own planning you can do
a lot for a little. You might consider hiring a local guide wherever you go
for one day, and try to connect with a "trade a trip" prospect for another
day.

If you are planning to take family, and have some other interest you might
see where you can pair things up. For instance, if you like to gamble
Laughlin is right on the Colorado River below Davis Dam, and Las Vegas isn't
far from Lake Mead. If you have youngun's Florida's Disney World has its
own fishing recreation area... Don't really know that much about it, but I
skimmed an article a while back about it. If you want to go multi species
for a little sal****er Florida is a good bet, and if you think some giants
cats might be fun to crank in on a day when you aren't bassin' the lower
Mississippi river might be a good bet for you.

March (depending how late or early in the month) shoud be pretty good
anywhere in the southern part of the country. Here in SW Az most of our
bass are post spawn by mid or late March with a few still on the beds.

Florida guide prices vary, don't forget Georgia, the Carolinas, and Texas
for that time of year either. A simple google search should net you lots

to
pick from.

You're right Steve....I forgot to consider two key factors...the closed

Bass
season and potential weather related issues. I must have just not have

computed
the whole March time frame. In any respect, you're right. He should head

south
at that time of the year.

Figure where the airfare is cheaper. Looking at Center Hill, TN motel for
$35 / night and probably reasonable guides. Nashville is a hub for
Southwest Airlines. I use to fish Lake Fork a couple of years ago and the
room was $50 / night and the guide was about $175 including tip for a 1/2
day. I liked Mark Woodruff as the guide. I bet the everglades area would
be reaonable. We paid $60 / night for a motel at the Ft. Lauderdale beach
in 2000. Get away from the beach and cabins at Doc Hoildays marina are
probably a lot cheaper. Boat rental may be the biggest cost. If shore
fishing, then the Everglades did not look like an area that was good for
that. A lake would be better.
