Well that is bull****. Most of the actual physical work of plumbing on
commercial, and much residential in California is done by illegals,
right out in the open. A journeyman for example carries a spraycan of
paint. Everywhere he paints a red spot gets drilled with a certain
sized hole, everywhere green, another pipe size. An illegal with the
right size drill bit comes along and drills the hole. Pipe pulling,
cutting etc is organized similarly to make use of unskilled, bargain
wages illegal labor. Its different, ie regulated, in San Francisco/
Bay Area to a large extent.

Bill, you just must not get out much. Electrical work is usually
organized in the same way to use illegal immigrant labor. Unless
things have changed in the last year or so, it would be false to say
that California restricted work to licenced plumbers, quite the
opposite.

No it is not bullship. The journeyman or the illegal, neither need a
license. The Contractor is the one required to be licensed. Same in Ohio

I was the one who said Joe did not require a license, as he supposedly
worked for a licensed Contractor.
