Question on flyswap
Fly-tying ROFFians,
I was wondering what the latest word is on how many flies we should tie for the big swap. I know there has been talk from the new swapmeister(s) of limiting it to 25, and I've already got 25+ of my pattern tied, but I need to know if I should keep going or not. Chuck Vance (who's starting to wonder if he should have tied glo-bugs instead of PMD cripples) |

The official un-official word is that Joe Fleischman is going to run the Great 2004 Fly Swap. I would expect an signup announcement on January 1. That's still 2.5 weeks away. And whenever it officially starts you will still have many weeks to do your tying... Actual rules and any limit on number of tyers will be Joe's decision. If anybody has ideas about rules, etc. you might as well post them now. -- Stan Gula http://gula.org/roffswaps |

Through consultation with the highest authorities (Tim & Stan), I will be assuming the mantle of swapmeister for the FS2004. However, inasmuch as the popularity of this swap is also its drawback from a workload perspective, the official announcement will endeavor to keep the required quantity down to a mangeable level for the tiers without limiting the number of participants. Some trick, eh? Jan. 1 boyos. Joe F. |

Whenever I fish in The Rockies, I always wish I had tied more. The PMD hatch has always been my favorite to fish when in Montana. Big Dale |

According to the new, new swapmeister, he's arrived at some magic that will allow all willing participants while keeping the number of flies tied to a manageable number. Damned smarty-pants engineers! :) -- TL, Tim who is breaking out his ol' slide rule should it become a requirement for the swap. ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |

Question on flyswap
