Doesn't seem many folks from our side of the mountains are going to be
making it to the U.P. or to N. Cackalacky, so.....
I am planning to be camping somewhere around Maupin on the Deschutes for
four days sometime in mid-October (I'm thinking 12-15, but could change
that to 19-22 if necessary). Any PNW roffians who would like to accrete
in pearly luster around my gritty presence for part or all of that time
would be more than welcome.....
In mid-October, both steelhead and trout fishing are in fine shape, the
splash-n-giggle crowd has all but disappeared, and it usually isn't too
cold yet to enjoy the early mornings and evenings. One can argue that the
steelhead fishing might be better then somewhat higher upriver, but Maupin
affords motel/lodge/cabin accommodations for those who don't want to camp,
not to mention better dining options.....
Any interest?

I've already made therapy appointments with a couple of rhododendron bushes
in Graham and Macon counties NC, but I do get to Portland and Seattle pretty
regularly on business, and I'm past due for a trip. I'd love to join you if
we can make the planets line up for a couple of days.
