I tried the Russian River once. The area I tried wasn't too far from the
main highway (101 I think???). It was loaded with smallies but I'll be
damned if I could figure out how to entice 'em. I tried every streamer in
my fly box. Never fished for 'em before so I obviously was doing something
wrong ... but they were there by the bucket load.

There's also a big reservoir just northeast of Napa, I think it starts with
a 'B' but it's been so long I cannot remember the name. Anyway, it has a
tailwater trout fishery below the dam.
