Default It's a beautiful day!

No - nothing to do with politics :-)

Spend the best part of the day fishing upstream of the secret spot, as the
weather dude promised a banner day. He was spot on, it was a gorgeous day.
Nice high sky made it easy to spot the cruiser-class rainbows - and
especially
to pick out the bows and browns from the spawning brookies, which were
every
friggin' where, getting underfoot, bumping my shins. Nuisance animals ;-)

Best fish was the first one. I watched this dude for almost a half hour as
he
kept lah-dee-dahing around and wouldn't settle long enough to spot a
decent
drift at him. Even made conversation with a passing fisherman, consoling
him
about being skunked to that point, while keeping an eye on the fish.
Finally
mr trout found a comfortable spot to hang out and watch the world drift
by, so
I bowled him a small flashback pt nymph - which he took on the first try.
That
was pretty cool, if a bad omen, but it brought in 19" of thick rainbow,
colored up nicely. Guy I was speaking with took a shot, if he can remember
my
email addy I'll post it.

Spent the whole day above the rt 9 bridge as Cady Lane looked packed.
Mostly
it was avoiding the brookies to get to the others, and I caught a nice
brown
and another bow before calling it an afternoon at dusk and joining the mad
dash already in progress on the turnpike.

Don't know how many days we'll get like this one before the snow falls...

Nice TR.... I envy you.

I got a weekend coming, but my home river has risen what looks like 6 feet
in the last 2 days, and the rivers I would normally fish this time of year
are all up in the Wall-mart parking lot....
