I feel that in some aspects I am a strong fly fishermen, but one area I
need help is picking the right fly. Today I was fishing on the Musky
with a great hatch going on. The fish were jumping out feeding, I tryed
all the dry flies I had but nothing worked. The flies that I saw were
small black flies. What flies are these, I was soo mad I'm about to
msell all of my fidhing gear to buy new photography gear, stick with
what you know. HELP hoe can I learn what flies are what?

1. Get almost any trout guide (local library) and learn how to
tell apart:
caddis species (downwings)
mayfly species (upwings)
stoneflies and the like
terrestrials.
2. Start recording the size of naturals in millimetres
(or hook sizes.)
