We had dinner, finished off a very good bottle of champagne (have one
left), and then went out on the lawn with all the outside lights off
and looked at Jupiter and its four moons all aligned in the southern
sky. Quite the sight through Whitt's automatic tracking telescope. The
heavens were bright and clear here in northern Maine tonight. Joanne
spotted something coming at us out of the northwest and we are guessing
it was the space station. Elongated, bright, and very fast moving
towards the southeast and then it disappeared, fading into nothing.
Quite the sight. It could have been the champagne, but non-drinkers
saw it and ewwwed and ahhhhhed along with the rest of us. Neat!
You lucky people!
Thirty minutes to lights out.
