Do we still recognise the close season on Rivers?
Yes - just been out for the ritual last session.
Wet, windy and not particularly productive.
If I remember correctly theres a close season on Rivers but not still
waters - is that correct??
Some still waters remain open during the closed season on rivers.
Generally
they are the out and out commercial fisheries where the fish might well
starve if they didn't get their daily hundredweight of high-protein mix.
Imo you should avoid the overstocked commercial 'puddles' all year.
In Suffolk some local clubs do keep some of there still waters open all year
so that is an avenue worth considering if you are a member or choose to
become one. As an example, one of my clubs keeps a 25 acre pit (which is one
of my more favoured venues) open all year.
