Default Jigging spoons

Hey Ronnie,

Nice to finally run into you. I truly enjoy your site!

When using this technique, does the spoon flash as much as retrieving
it?

I'm thinking about trying your technique when I head to Canada for my
fly in fishing trip (I'm sure Steve Huber is tired of me mentioning it
LOL) for Pike.

Thanks Ronnie,

Scott

anyone here use jigging spoons in cold water ? if so please educate me
on how to use them.

I have several articles on this on my site. Basically, find fish on a
depthfinder, get directly over them, drop a spoon to the bottom on a tight line
and jig it up and down. Or drop it to their level if they are suspended. I
think it works better in clear water. Keep a tight line as the spoon falls,
that is when the bass will hit. Be ready to set the hook.

Try different ways of jigging, move it a few inches up and down, a couple of
feet each jig, pop it up fast then try a slow raise and drop. Vary until the
fish tell you what they want. And try different size spoons, usually it helps
to "match the hatch" and use a spoon about the length of the baitfish the bass
are feeding on.
