When using this technique, does the spoon flash as much as retrieving
it? It does not flash as much, but usually jigging is done when the fish are sluggish - here in Georgia, anyway, and you are trying to make it look like a dying shad, falling to the bottom and struggling to get back up toward the top. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |

Thanks Ronnie,
I'm thinking of taking your idea up to Canada with me for some Spring time Pike. I know they'll be in the shallows, but I gotta believe some are still in the 8-12 foot depths. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Scott ----------------------------------------------------- Would love to go fishing but don't know how to start? I don't have pike here, and seldom jig that shallow. 12 feet is about as
shallow as I have ever caught a fish and it is usually 18 or more. With the boat right over them they might spook if that shallow. If you are jigging holes in the grass below, it might work. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |
