I'm trying to find wading sandals with aluminum cleats
(not steel). I see a bunch of new wading boots this year,
that brag about aluminum cleats (they do grip better) but
I haven't found any sandals yet.

.....anybody know of any?
I want to wear them over flats boots, for wet wading
this year.

How 'bout these:

Should do the job you describe.

Don't know anything about the retailer. You can buy them through
Amazon, though.

If you buy these, be sure to take a file and slightly round the outside
sharp corners on the outside cleats. Walking in these is a little different
than you are probably used to, and while learning to do so, it is very easy
to tear your waders by catching then with one of the sharp edges. Don't ask
how I know.

I won't, but thanks for the heads-up. It wouldn't have
occurred to me, and these look like interesting items for those of us who
fish slippery streams.

Thanks. Those look interesting. I was hoping to find something
more like the high-tech strap sandals that are getting popular
anymore (you have to be from the mountain states to say that),
but that's the best link so far.

I strained my brain trying to think back and remember if I'd ever
seen any like that. I have a vague memory that Korkers made some
at one time, but they seem to have gone entirely to carbide studs
on their strap-on models.

what is the purpose of such a combination? i have forgotten where you
are located and the waters you wade...wouldn't a lightweight cleated
boot be better and less trouble? i've never liked cleated boots...well,
except on penns creek, but that was a life/death choice.g but, i like
lightweight wading boots/shoes. i'll be interested in hearing how your
combo works. sandals never seem to fit well enough or to be sturdy or
protective enough for me to feel comfortable wading in freestone streams...

I hate waders. I wet wade earlier and later than most.
And I love my flats boots. I have neoprene socks. Slap'em on.
Put on zip up flats booties. But on aluminum sandals and
now you're ready for kamikaze wet wading.

Even tho I'm old (60th is next) I still feel cheated if
I don't swim at least once when fishing.

As we have discussed a few times, you have to come east and fish
Penn's......think greased bowling balls, in spots.
If I could get you and Reid out here at the same time, I would pass on
fishing altogether and spend the day with a movie camera..........and
probably suitable first aid and rescue equipment.......

I'm the same way. I have a set of waders, the old nylon variety,
but I hardly ever use them and wade wet 99% of the time. Still,
I wear wool socks, neoprene sock/gravel guard, and wading boots.
I tried sandals once, and only once, I kept getting gravel under
my feet and stubbing my toes.

No way, Jose. The Fortenberry Rule of Wading states, thos shalt
keep dry the family jewels.
