Winter fishing was never my forte...I have mostly been a "fair weather"
fisherman. But living right on this little lake, I just had to throw a bait every now and then. It has taken me a month or so, but now I enjoy it! First I had to learn to dress right! Then I had to adjust my patience level. Then I had to find the baits, and patterns that worked. (Thanks Ronnie for the jig n pig advice!). I have found the ratio of larger bass is greater than the spring and summer thing....not sure why, but I like it. That ratio has helped me maintain the patience too! It's definitely different....less time on the water, less fish, but bigger ones, totally rethinking techniques, and bringing my rods inside instead of leaving them on the porch...talk about line memory, just leave em outside in freezing temps. ![]() Damn life's good!
