it is snowin' here in good 'ol Lenoir! The temp. is around 24 degrees, so
it should hang around for at least the next couple of hours.

I love the snow!

Peter, can a person gain Canadian citizenship, if they profess their love
for Canadian snow?

That would be Lenoir, North CAROLINA??

Wow, just how often does it snow there?!? Being from Maine, where we get
lots of that white stuff, I always figured North Cackalacky mediated between
rings-under-your-armpits hot and god-I'm-gonna-die hot. Never thought you
got snow more often than once a decade or so, and even then only because of
flying saucers or something.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Snow in North Carolina, in moderation is not uncommon. More so even more in
the mountains of Western and Northern part of the state. They even have *ski
resorts* (one in North GA for that matter)

Myron, you owe yourself a visit to some of the most beautiful
mountains on the planet. They're not Rockies huge but they are
mountains and they do get snow, sometimes *lots* of snow.

I try to fish in the mountains of Graham County at least twice
a year, spring and fall, and Jeff Miller will ususally host an
anti-clave in the fall too. Join us one of these times and your
perceptions of North Cackalacky will definitely be altered.

I believe you are correct; in all my wanderings around, I definately have
not explored that region enough. Hiked the AT through the Blue Ridge
Parkway, and drove/hitchhiked through on the highways many times, but the
lure of seeing the mountains is strong. If nothing good pans out at the job
fair in Boston in 2 weeks, SWMBO has given me permission to take a year off
and get some of this 'fishing/camping/canoeing' bug out of my system. If
that happens, I *will* make the fall anti-clave, thanks! I'll keep you
posted.

Why you Ugly American Ex-patriot moose-****er! While I sit here eating a
Jethro Bodeen sized bowl of GRITZ--with plenty of salt, pepper, butter and
1/4 bottle of Texas Pete hot sauce which ain't all that hot-- with the snow
fallin' like ...umm, SNOW! YOU have the unmitigated audacity to insult a
dysfunctional son of the old north state and the beloved state he would
leave, if only the Canadian powers that be would just overlook his extensive
criminal record?!

Ordinarily, I would get in my trusty Suburban chase vehicle and hunt your
sorry ass down like a wascally wabbit eatin' my garden veggies or a
maraudin' collie, bent on subverting the neighborhood canines! However, as
the snow is approachin' ankle deep, I will have to forgo my best instincts
and fart in your general direction.

ROFL. I heartily and wholeheartedly encourage you to come chase me down in
the General Lee, you inbred grits-eating moonshine-brewing rebel. And get
pictures of the splash.

By coincidence my spring dates were set just moments ago. SWMBO
spent the morning cursing Ticketmaster but finally succeeded in
getting tix to U2 in Chicago during the second week of May. So,
neither one of us being interested much in a U2 concert, me and
Kipper the Hound will be in North Carolina that week. Approximately
May 8-14.

We stay in Bryson City, just across the Graham County line in Swain
County. I'll fish in Graham County but I'll be damned if I'll ever
spend one red cent there if I can help it. There's something perverse
and unholy about a dry county and I'll spend my lodging, food, gas
and supply money elsewhere.

Snowshoes, $200.00,

Suburban fillup, $400.00,

Bearsbuddy in full flight indignation, priceless.
