.... and bought a couple of the new Shimano D series Curado. While I don't
know yet if I like them overall, as I just spooled them up today, I can say they seem to have fixed the one big problem with the old B series Curados that I didn't like. The minute free to lock adjustment of the spool tension. The first thing I noticed was that the spool tension knob was much larger, and then as I did the basic dial in for the baits on the rods I found that there was a lot more travel between free spool and lock down making it much easier to dial in the reels for the baits. I like the cover staying attached to the reel too when you open it up to adjust the brakes. I don't know if I like the new brake lock setup, but there does seem to be more room to get your finger tip in there. I picked up a 5:1 for cranking, and a 7:1 for buzzbaits. I recon I'll cast a little bit with both of them tommorrow to see how they do. Bob La Londe www.YumaBassMan.com |
