Fly Rod Rack

I have a wall mount fly rod rack I built myself and is less than
desireable. It takes up alot of wall space (60" wide and 42" tall). It
holds 10 rods and tubes horizontally. Wife says it has to go. I am
looking for a rack that will sit on the floor and hold rods and tubes
in an upright position having capacity for 12 to 15 rods and tubes. I
was not impressed by the racks at Bass Pro. Cabela's has a radiused
rack that fits in a corner and looks pretty functional though I have
only seen a photo.

Does anyone have this particular rack or something similar that won't
break the bank? I have minimal floor and wall space to spare. Any
ideas would be appreciated.

Look at the fishing rod racks at a few stores. Even Walmart. Make it
circular for less wall space. They make racks and I saw one for display at
I think the Sage booth at the ISE at San Mateo today. Has a board with a
1/2 round cut out and a slanted board at behind and a matching cut out with
the cutout facing out at the top. The butt fits in the bottom cut out and
the slanted board makes it fit tightly to the cutout and the top board keeps
the rod in line.

I've seen a couple of different ones in recent Cabela's catalogs.
Actually, it looks like they would be fairly easy to make with just
basic woodworking equipment.

I do not think so, but were in the factory display at the show of rods. Ask
at any show who makes their rack or take a couple pics and go to a cabinet
maker.

Got this corner rack. Works great. Going to get another to put in
the other corner ('cause the first one is full).

Yeah, I got the corner rack with the OS radius form Cabela's. Solid
oak, simple, functional, good quality and reasonably priced. The
Cabela's north of Fort Worth was great. Beautiful rainbow and golden
trout in their pond. Only had a few minutes to shop. Will plan a half
day next time I go. Got some deals in the "Cave" too and a bunch of
Mustads on sale for under $6 buck per 100. Hook count approaching
beyond my counting ability.....(no smart remarks!)

Just went to the Denver Fly show, not much in the way of tying
materials but there was one shop selling all materials at 50% off.
Got about 60 bucks worth (at the discount price) of hooks. Now I just
have to sort 'em and put them in the appropriately labeled hook boxes.
Hmm, single malt and hook sorting. Sounds like a good Winter evening
task.
